Located in Northeast Missouri, Paris is the county seat of Monroe County. Our current population is 1,220 as of the 2010 census.
At the City of Paris we pride ourselves in the daily contribution to individual and community well being. We believe that by sharing common values we can increase the opportunity of each individual in the community. We wish to grow our community's industry and job opportunities while still maintaining our small town values.
We strive to provide our community with the best service possible. We work hard to make sure Paris is a safe, friendly, beautiful place to raise a family. On Friday, March 27, 2020, the Monroe County Commission, Monroe County Emergency Management Director, and the Monroe County Health Department Administrator entered a document into the county records called “Guidance for Missouri’s 2019 Novel Coronavirus Public Health Order”. In this guidance, explanations are given for how to effectively follow the Governor’s Social Distancing Program. It defines what is an essential business, an essential activity, and essential travel.

Economic Sales Tax Grant Application
DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 1, 2020
The City of Paris offers an Economic Sales Tax Grant to land owners and businesses for improvements to buildings and real property. Preference is given to those in the downtown area. Successful applicants can be awarded reimbursement of up to 50% of the total project, with a maximum of $5,000.
