The mission of the Paris Volunteer Fire Department is provide fire fighting and rescue services for our community and county. Fire protection consists of 24 volunteer firemen that includes: a chief, assistant chief, and three captains. The Department's primary job is fire suppression and fire rescue/auto extrication. The City of Paris has a Class 8 fire rating and the Rural has a Class 10. The Paris Fire Department has monthly training meetings and participates, when available, in the University of Missouri Fire Training. The Department also participates in the Fire Prevention Week at the local schools, day cares, and two retirement homes in addition to other civic group demonstrations.
